October is Pit Bull Awareness Month!

as a dog lover, these animals are the most loving and loyal but boy do they need discipline and attention! they are snugglers so that means the white sheets I have are prob not the best choice. they like to play, so beware of the flooring surfaces you choose. they what we call in my house "patrol the premises". that means jumping on doors and couches and window treatments. with that said, my two (Pebbles and BamBam) are my children.

as perfect as I'd love for my home to be, I've had to face facts. so my advise to you during the month of Pit Bull awareness, is to "pit bull proof" your house. laminate flooring (wont scratch), ultra suede couches (scrubable), machine washable pillow cases, dark paint colors (hides everything), looped and short pile carpet (vacuums easily).

Spikes Yikes!

spikes are HUGE this summer & i've always been a big fan. there are many ways to incorporate spikes into your life..but be careful, too much can turn a fun trend into a painful nightmare! if this trend is too much for you to wear, try incorporating as interior decor. - BCBG does the spike right! -

one time, at a family BBQ, I was holding my little cousin and she was very squirmy.. My mom came over and pulled off a wrapped leather bracket I was wearing and said " you think it's a good idea to wear spiked jewelry when handling children!" LOL lesson learned...

It's Officially Summer!

this is def a case where picture says a thousand words. what an extravaganza, some how my beautiful car always turns into the family pick up truck. I've had full pieces of wooden fence, slabs of marble and real live palm trees, not to mention 2 large doggies...this is a classic case of the man in my life saying "I got it, don't worry"...cant blame the man for trying and the new grill made it home in one piece. His chicken didn't stand a chance but he's working on it.

Fashion Meets Finish - NJ IIDA 2014

this years IIDA Fashion Meets Finish, NJ 2014 [LIVING ART] @ Kean University was awesome! what a great experience. we always have such a fantastic time bringing our concept to life and this year was no different. putting in a little over 100 hours during the last 3 months was well worth the work. about 20 design industry teams paired up with material vendors to create a fashion statement using only the raw materials provided from your partner. the sponsors vary from carpet to laminates to office furniture (sargenti's sponsor) to lighting fixtures. once you're paired up, then you're off to the races! it's a mad dash to the finish line. we were gluing and sewing up until the last few minutes.. but nicole rocked the runway!!! click here for a youtube teaser to the show

Last year the theme was [sinister] and we also won second! we are the only team with 2 models. nicole and jason. it will take a second to realize it's nicole hehe which means we did a good job :-) click here for last years video is cool too (we also won 2nd)
